Jobs With Ngos In Toronto
goal - very good new material
Hueber sold with a new course for AIM Intermediate
certificate to German TestDaF and on.
My opinion: The best thing on the market!
(Much better than "em" from the same publisher ...)
please buy not only the course book! In the workbook there is a lot more material
(with CD - with exercises for the PC)
costs and even less!
Of course, the material made for a class of teachers, but also
alone so you can practice this.
The NEW EXTRA CD-ROM (for the band B2 / 1) is finally finished, she had immediately
I bought and tested:
really well - even works without the books (And without a teacher)
fit the role very well with the level and are good for test training. Apparently there are
200 exercises - I was hoping for more quantitatively,
but the quality is right - ie:
applause for the first good CD-ROM
for the intermediate level!
("em" here was a total catastrophe ... yes, "tell me more" and the programs of other companies are meaningful only for the elementary)

How to do the German "R"
Before I start: one more tip for tests: Here are
model test for almost every level for free download
model tests
Not only English-speakers feel frustrated with this letter,
though it is Essentially the French "R" and really easy to do
(as with all new sounds: not easy to master practice so!)
Thanks to. .... who asked for help on babbel.com, and here my advise:
the German "R" (actually we took it from the French) is easy to train:
gargle with water - now 'gargle' without water: voila, ther German "R"
actually the word gaRgle is a good word to train it, In German: GURGELN
The "R" is really between the G (like in GOLD) and the U (like in Pooh):
G - the tounge closes the throat then releases
U - the tounge is at the same position (G -released) and leaves the throat open
The R is "in between" those positions, opening the throat just a bit
(or only nearly closing it ;-) )
Try : Tauben gurren (Doves doing their sound)
Mich gruselt es bei gruseligen Gruselfilmen (I feel scary watching scary scary-movies.)
Grausame Grabräuber graben Gruben und Gräber. (Cruel Tomb-Raiders are digging holes and graves. )
Or pronounce "Cruel, scary, grave and try" like the German tourists do ....
MOST OF THE TIME THE LETTER "R" IS NOT PRONOUNCED "R" BUT "a"!!!
Good news: after a vowel (officially: always after long ones only, but I do it after ALL vowels) it is perfectly acceptable to pronunce the R just like "a" : Vater is fata, Bruder is bRuda
100% would be like bRud(ea) - the phonetic sign is an 'a' standing on its head.
In my hometown we speak all vowels before an 'r' a bit longer - and consequently
do then always the 'ea' or 'a' -
even the very short Wurst and Kirche become Wuuast und Kiiache.
Standard would be WuRst and KiRche - or at least that 'ea'-sound.
If you speak the Russian / English 'RR'and can not stop it - do not despair:
That is acceptable, but please not after vowels.
Sun: bRRudea and Kieache is not perfect, but
sounds MUCH better than bRRudeRR and KiRRche
(I can not do the "RRR" but would love to learn it Any good advise?) When
And Germans are not lost pronouncin R speaking English ...
is the famous sentence: "Thank you for trrravelling German car!"

model tests!
Not everyone loves exams, exams and tests - (?)
but all like to train with sample tests.
Even if you do not need a diploma, these model tests
very good material to practice. The modern test test
realistic as you can good German - not how diligently you have
"grammar" learned by heart ... ;-)
A good list of links to model tests can be found here:
